Yakini - My Favourite Pics

Hello there, and thank you for visiting this site. I wanted to be able to show my old and new friends some of my favourite places and photos. I hope you enjoy them.

Dunk Island
I spent some time here and loved the place. All of the islands have something different to offer, and I thought Dunk had a bit of most things which I enjoy. |

Edwin and Bertha Banfield in their Twilight Years
As well as providing some general information on Dunk, I've made a page on the Banfields who were the first white people to live on the island. Edwin, a journalist, suffered a nervous breakdown and moved to the island with his wife Bertha in 1897. They lived there for 23 years until his death. They became self-sufficient and Edwin also became an internationally selling author while they continued to live on the island.

Yakini
The page I like the most on this site is the one with my favourite pictures of Yakini, a baby gorilla who was born by Caesarian section and delivered by a team of obstetricians, gynaecologists, paediatricians, and midwives from the Royal Women's and Royal Children's Hospitals, Melbourne. I especally hope that you will take a peek at Yakini's pics. |
